Reconstruction of My Site

Many years ago I started to find some weird behavior on my personal website, and after further check, I realized that my website has been hacked. Back then my site was running using Wordpress for content management.

I did make few attemps to 'clean' the infection in the site code, but the malicious code keep re-appearing. At that time, I also have another commitment and does not have enough time to deal with this matter. So in 2020, I decided to take down my old blog site to prevent the hacker to continue exploiting the visitor to my site. Now the domain name has been taken over by someone, so I will not show the old address here (it contain some malicious site right now).

Fast forward, I have completed what I set out to do and I decided to rebuild my personal blog using Content Management System other than Wordpress. This is partly due to the bad experiences I had in the past, and also Wordpress is too complicated for my liking. I wanted to have something simple, lightweight, and yet easy enough for me to post new content. This is the the one I settle with right now.

I also decided to change the name and the tagline for my site. The tagline is still somewhat related to 'learning', since it is what I am passionate about. The domain name and the tagline are what we have right now: "Learn it the hard way" or "Learn IT the hard way" since I will probably post some content related to my learning journey related to computer software and hardware.

Update 2022-08-08: I just realize that my old domain (antonqiu.com) is still active, althouh my hosting package already expired. However, the domain somehow point to suspicious site and my domain company (Hostgator) does not provide a way to configure the domain if I do not have hosting package with them. I finally transfer out my domain from Hostgator to a better domain company that allow me to configure the domain properly. Now my old domain (antonqiu.com) is also pointing to this site.
